Angelique writes, “This illustration was made to capture childhood curiosity and fun. As kids, we found wonder in the simplest things—the garden was our playground! We baked mud cakes, concocted leafy and floral soups, terrorised worms (wiggly noodles), collected stones to mash wild berries, discovered broken bird eggshells and reimagined sticks as cooking and adventure tools. These childhood adventures were a bright, wonder-filled time in our lives served up to our loved ones as yummy, inedible grotesque breakfasts. This illustration serves as a reminder of the joy of both creating and receiving these meals.”
